Youth group ends year with Christmas party

The youth group poses with their Yankee Swap gifts

On Dec. 16, 49 people attended the annual youth group Yankee Swap, including 8 adults, 8 college crew, 22 teens, and 11 pre-teens.

We met at the church, drove to Wal-Mart in Lisbon to purchase $5 gifts, and returned to wrap them before the swap. The gifts included a fish (Joselyn’s idea), popcorn tin, blankets, candy and more.

Special thanks to the First Haitian Baptist Church of Norwich for lending us their 15-seat van. Stephanie Hamel fulfilled her long-time dream and drove the bus to pick up people in Norwich!

We saw a significant increase in the number of teens helped during this year’s Christmas outreach. We are believing God to bring in a “gathering” of young people into His house in 2012.
